Hello! My name is Aretha Gordon. I’ve been teaching for over 7 years. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have a passion for helping students grow both academically and personally, and I strive to create a classroom environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling- The Mico University (Jamaica)
- Master’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) – University of North Carolina Pembroke
- Certified in Elementary Education (K-6)
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe learning should be meaningful and engaging. My goal is to nurture critical thinkers and lifelong learners by encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and creativity in the classroom. We believe in the motto: “Bringing out the Genius in you”
A Little More About Me:
When I’m not teaching, I love reading non-fiction books, baking with my two children, and cooking. I also enjoy integrating technology and hands-on projects into my lessons to make learning fun and relevant.
